Magic Mike sequel gets release date and ‘size matters’ title
Size matters!
2012’s surprising smash hit Magic Mike has officially received a release date and a not-so-subtle title as Channing Tatum and the boys are readying to rock and roll for more male stripper action.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the release date for the film will be July 3, 2015 while The Playlist is reporting that the title will be Magic Mike XXL.
Tatum, who is actively co-writing the sequel, spoke about some of the premise of part 2 during his appearance at the MTV Movie Awards:
“We don’t want to make it some serious slice-of-life movie. We want to have real, like reality in it, but we don’t want to make, like, some dark drama. There was some darkness in the last movie and I think it surprised people and shocked people. This one, we want to have a lot of conflict and a lot of struggle, but we also want there to be … ridiculous stuff that you would never see in a movie, on the face of the earth, ever again.”
As for which of the studs will be back on board? According to Channing – all of them! “I think everyone’s gonna be back, I think — and obviously nobody’s deals are done,” he revealed.
Let the countdown to the pants down awesomeness begin!
