Emily Kraus and her boyfriend were on their way to catch Dave Matthews live in Hershey, Pennsylvania Saturday. They were running late but as they were making their way they noticed someone familiar stranded on the side of the road. They pulled over to help the man out and got the surprise of a lifetime. The guy was Dave Matthews!

Dave was out doing a pre-show bike ride when he got a flat tire. “I did not have a cell phone on the bicycle. So I thought, ‘Sh*t,” he later recalled during that evening’s show. Lucky for Dave, Emily, who’s been a fan of his since the age of 9, recently had a bike rack installed on the front of her car by her parents. After not crashing into him — she did what any reasonable awe-struck fan would do in this circumstance… She offered the star a ride to his own show.

With mind’s blown as they must have felt like they were under the table and dreaming, the couple didn’t know much of what to say to Dave so they just ended up talking about his tour and his daughter’s summer camp schedules.

Grateful for the lift, Matthews invited the pair to dinner, treated them with front row seats and invited them backstage after the show. During the performance, Matthews recounted the incident adding, “And then a nice lady named Emily rode up in a red car with a bicycle rack on it and gave me a ride on to the gig.”

Emily said later, “My cheeks still hurt from smiling, giggling and laughing all night long … this will always be remembered.”
