43-year-old Jodi has kept quiet for the past few years of her sister’s fame, but bristled at a recent video their dad uploaded on YouTube with the message “Don’t close the door on your children.”

She wasn’t allowed to read any books or listen to any music that wasn’t Christian, and couldn’t even use words her parents considered to be associated with the devil, like “Lucky Charms” (Lucifer) or “Dirt Devil.” Katy even told Vanity Fair last year that she didn’t feel like she’d had a childhood.

In fact, as a teen, she had to rock music in her bag to avoid being “strip searched” by her strict parents.
