National Geographic Channel’s new hit reality series Doomsday Castle is more than just a show about a prepper building a castle in the Carolina mountains, it’s also a show about a father bringing his family together in a therapeutic, retreat-like setting in hopes that they will not only learn to get along better, but also use the experience to find focus and enhance the experiences in their lives outside the castle walls. And nobody needed the “therapeutic” experience more than the self-described “black sheep of the family” Brenton Bruns II, who has a rather extensive criminal history and was struggling with a pill addiction when his dad invited him to work on the castle.
