Are John Corbett and Bo Derek getting married?
During a visit on Live with Regis and Kelly this morning John Corbett, 49, addressed the prospect of getting married to his long-time girlfriend Bo Derek, 53.
The Sex and the City star discussed his 8-year relationship with Derek and mentioned that they had a satisfying love life as he pointed to Bo standing in the wings. Kelly jumped on the opportunity and asked if the two had ever thought about complicating their relationship with marriage.
John smiled and said:
“We were actually talking about that last night. We went to a party and we were talking about maybe doing it one day. First time we’ve talked about it in 8 years! Funny enough.” He mentioned that Bo had been “married to the great John Derek for 30 years. A lot of women, that’s high on their list – to be married. I’ve never been married. We’re not having kids. I think it’s important to do if you’re going to have kids.”
Corbett was a little less vague later: “Why not? Yeah, we’ll do that one day. For sure. In the not-too-distant future.”
Set your calendars folks! On “the not-too-distant future” John Corbett and Bo Derek will be getting married! I checked my personal calendar and there’s a lot of things going on that day, so I doubt I’ll be able to make it.
For our readers too young to know who Bo Derek and John Corbett are, I dug up a couple video clips. (If you don’t know who Regis Philbin or Kelly Rippa are, this article will make no attempt to change that.)
Bo Derek is most remembered for her role in the movie 10 with Dudley Moore. The scene where she is jogging down the beach with braided hair is an all-time iconic Hollywood image. (You might recognize the reference in one of the most recent Capitol One Visa card commercials in which a viking runs along the beach before the memorable question is asked, “What’s in your wallet?”) Here is the trailer for 10 from way back in 1979:
John Corbett is best known for his Sex and the City role as Aidan Shaw, the on-again/off-again love interest for Carrie Bradshaw played by Sarah Jessica Parker. For my taste, I will always think of John Corbett as Chris Stevens: the philosophical disc jockey for KBHR 570 AM on TV’s Northern Exposure. Here is Corbett playing Stevens as he discusses the worthiness of a particular cow he intends on flinging:
