Blubberella

Forget Sharktopus and Dinoshark, the new measuring stick for feature film ridiculosity promises to be the latest project from director Uwe Boll featuring the world’s first overweight female superhero titled Blubberella!

At this point all we know about the movie is information gleaned from a very brief entry on TheFilmCatalog.com which includes a thumbnail of the Blubberella movie poster as well as a short list of cast members and this brief synopsis:

The first female fat superhero …
She will kick major ass – with her major ass!

All the BLOODRAYNE fans will love that movie!

CBC News offers up this additional bit of info, although I’m suspicious that it is just stuff they have inferred from the poster:

Blubberella follows an obese superhero (played by Lindsay Hollister) who stabs her bullies with her swords, one in each hand. The heroine also stamps out evil – literally. Her footsteps cause explosions.

The film will star Lindsay Hollister, Michael Paré, Clint Howard and Uwe Boll himself.

Boll is most famous for bringing video games to the big screen in a manner not appreciated by fans of video games or movies. From IMDB:

As of 2008, all four of the films he has directed that were based upon video games, House of the Dead (2003), Alone in the Dark (2005), BloodRayne (2005) and BloodRayne: Deliverance (2007) (V) were listed on the IMDb Bottom 100. Most of the other films he’s directed, including Heart of America (2002), Blackwoods (2002) and The First Semester (1997) are not widely available in America, but have received similarly low ratings among those who have seen them. Having directed 14 movies up to 2008 Boll reached an average IMDb rating of 2,4 (2.44 to be precise).

Perhaps directing (and starring in) a movie that is supposed to be bad will be just what Uwe needs to jumpstart his career! And perhaps Blubberella will be just what the film industry needs to jumpstart a flood of obese superhero films Here are some of what we might expect once Blubberella becomes a huge box office success:
