Brazilian brunette bombshell Adriana De Moura has verified after much prolonged speculation that there will indeed be a second season of The Real Housewives of Miami. This certifies one extremely important fact to take note of on the reality TV horizon, we will be getting more Mama Elsa Patton and that could never, ever be a bad thing!
Adriana spoke with The Miami Herald and dished out info on the upcoming 2nd season including a serious change in the cast and approach. The show suffered from low ratings and overall poor reviews from the press and according to De Moura they are looking to shake things up and make the show much more focused:
“ Larsa [Pippen] and Cristy [Rice]’’ are out. Producers didn’t want this to go in a Basketball Wives direction. We’ll portray Miami the way it should be portrayed.’’
Oh snap! Adriana just took a shot at the two ladies who were on the fighting side of herself and Lea in the live shout fest that was the season one reunion. Larsa is a lovely woman but she was pretty lifeless on the show but taking away Cristy, who became the quasi villain, seems like a rather strange move.
I guess Rice is over the feud because she tweeted the Herald’s article and later tweeted that:
While it sounds like Cristy was left hangin’ by Bravo Larsa took to her Twitter to verify her lack of participation and to give her explanation as to why she wouldn’t be on the show:
There was no identification yet of who will replace the ladies for the 2nd season, I’m assuming it will not be wives of sports stars, but Adriana did open up about how the show’s producers plan on addressing some of the problems the show faced:
“It’s so funny, when we aired, everyone said, ‘Oh that show is so bad. I don’t even watch it.’ “But when they were casting, all of a sudden — I’m not going to mention names — but now half of Miami wants to be in it.’’
She went on to explain that part of the show’s problem is that season 1 was not intended to be a part of the Housewives franchise but instead was set to be a Miami Social knockoff but a switch was made in process. She added:
“That’s why we had shorter episodes and all that foolishness. Now we’re hoping to beat Beverly Hills!’’
