Oxycontin found in DJ AM’s stomach, mouth suggests possible suicide
A law enforcement source told People that there’s a new report surfacing in regard to DJ AM’s death that suggests his death may have been a suicide. It was originally thought that DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, died of an accidental overdose after a drug relapse.
This new report indicates that Goldstein had nine Oxycontin pills in his body, eight in his stomach and one in his mouth. There was a crack pipe found near his body, and crack under his body. The report also mentions a Valentine’s Day card from Haley Wood, his girlfriend. Many rumors have been swirling that a breakup with Haley Wood caused Goldstein’s relapse, but Ms. Wood is now speaking out against the idea that they were broken up at the time of his death.
DJ AM has been suicidal in the past. He told Glamour magazine in a very open and stirring interview that he once attempted suicide at age 24, putting a gun to his mouth and even pulling the trigger. He escaped death again almost a year ago this month in a tragic plane crash where four other people died. He’s sense been struggling with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and survivor’s guilt.
DJ AM was a man who went through horrible situations, endured an abusive childhood, struggled with food and drug addictions, and escaped death multiple times, but he was able to use his own struggle to help others. Since his death, there has been an outpouring of praise about the caliber of Adam Goldstein’s character and kindness.
