Teen grateful after Patrick Dempsey rescues him from horrific car accident

Weston Masset saved by Patrick Dempsey

As a parent it’s horrible to hear that your child has been involved in a terrible car accident. For the mother of 17-year-old Weston Masset the news came a little easier after she discovered that none other than Dr. McDreamy had helped ensure her son’s safety!

Last week Masset (seen in photo above beside Dempsey) lost control of his mustang which rolled over 3 times, trapping the scared young man, leaving him nearly unconscious. Lucky for Weston this accident occurred near the Malibu home of Dempsey who reacted like a man who portrays a life saving doctor on T.V. would and came to his rescue.

Patrick hurried to the vehicle armed with a crowbar and a fire extinguisher (I’m not making this up) and managed to pull the teenager to safety. The story doesn’t end here, because he’s McDreamy and you’re not, as the actor contacted the paramedics and waited by Masset’s side until he was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

When Dempsey pulled Masset from the wreckage the hazy-headed young man asked him, “”‘Are you famous?” and Dempsey said, “Yeah I’m a doctor.” Then, THEN,  Dempsey called Weston’s mom (it’s okay all you moms out there you can breathe) to appraise her of the situation.

Mary Beth Masset said, “He had a certain authority in his voice. I asked if he was a paramedic and he said, ‘No, this is Patrick Dempsey.’ I thought, ‘McDreamy?'” Yes Mary Beth, McDreamy rescued your son, stayed by his side to make sure he got the care he needed and then personally called you to let you know that he was going to be okay. You now have the remainder of your life to share this story as many times as humanly possible. Here’s her pic just so you’ll know who got that call:

In large part thanks to Dempsey’s quick actions young Weston is recovering from just a concussion and an eye injury. He told Robin Roberts with ABC through a mug filled with braces, “He was there for me. It would have been a lot worse without him.”
