Pitch Perfect stars Skylar Astin (who plays Jesse) and Anna Camp (who plays Aubrey) are engaged to be married.
The couple spent the New Year relaxing in Hawaii before Skylar popped the question. They announced the happy news via Instagram. “I asked. She said yes!!!” Skylar captioned while Anna echoed his sentiment in her own post saying, “He asked. I said YES!!!!”
The two first met during the filming of the first Pitch Perfect back in 2012. The acting/singing duo began dating the following year.
At first, the pair seemed like an unlikely match. Even though they starred in the same movie, they never filmed scenes together. And, in addition to a mismatched shooting schedule, the couple seemed to share more differences than similarities: Skylar was already in a relationship, and Anna had just gone through a divorce–to say nothing of their five-year age gap.
But none of that stood in the way of their connection. Anna previously told Glamour, “We were friends first and just hit it off. He’s just so great.”
And when he asked her on a date, she figured she had nothing to lose: “I was like, ‘You know what? OK! Let’s do it, let’s see.'”
Two years later, they’re engaged. No word yet on when the nuptials are set to take place, but you can bet the music at their reception will be aca-mazing!
