‘Welcome to the darkest year of our adventures’ Rick and Morty Season 3 trailer drops with Pickle Rick
Nearly two years after the end of Season 2, Rick and Morty Season 3 is finally upon us. The show’s creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland announced the premiere date and dropped the trailer on a lifestream tonight. The first episode of this season aired on April Fool’s Day earlier this year and ignited a cultural craze over McDonald’s defunct Szechuan Dipping Sauce.
We’ll finally get to dig into a whole new season 11:30 PM Sunday, July 30. “Welcome to the darkest year of our adventures” Rick’s voiceover says during the 1:30 minute trailer.
Dan Harmon took to Twitter a few days ago to address rumors about infighting and explain why the delay between seasons had been so long. “The reason S3 took long is because it took long to write, because it was S3 of a show that we were scared to make worse than S2 or S1,” he tweeted. “It’s a common yet odd phenomenon. Tail-chasing, perfectionism, overthinking?”
He went on to assure the audience that if the rumors were true that he and co-creator Justin Roiland were fighting, they would have been happy to share their feud with the world.
This season looks absolutely amazing! Who else can’t bear to wait another whole month for this?
