Oprah Winfrey is set to embark on her final season of The Oprah Winfrey Show.  The debut episode was way back on September 8th, 1986 and the show’s title was “How to Marry the Man/Woman of Your Choice.”  Since that moment the show and the woman it is named after have forever changed the face of television.  This last run is being called “The Farewell Season” and Oprah is promising that it will be the biggest and best season ever.

Here is the promotional video that reminds you just how long O has been at it and just how ingrained she is in everyday American culture.

The most influential talk show host in TV history, a media magnate, a beacon for a generation of women, Oprah Winfrey is a living legend and while no TV personality has ever been more scrutinized in the end this world we live in is a much better place because of the tenacious lady with a mic in her hand.

The Farewell Season for The Oprah Winfrey Show will debut on September 13th.
