VIDEO: Arcade Fire return with intimate live gig to preview ‘The Suburbs’

Arcade Fire made a return to the stage last night with an intimate gig for around 1,200 fans at the Granada Theatre in Sherbrooke, Quebec.  It was the first night of two scheduled performances to debut songs off of their forthcoming album, The Suburbs.  In a handwritten note via the band’s website they have announced August 2nd as the release date for the new album.

Some of the new songs performed at last night’s gig included Month of May, Ready to Start, Used to Wait and Rococo among others.  Here is the full setlist from the show:

One of the fans fortunate enough to attend the show recorded a crowd-shot video of the rousing acoustic closer Wake Up from the band’s debut masterpiece Funeral.  The video really catches the fervor of the performance and provides a glimpse of how great this band really is!  Check it out:

Arcade Fire has an official tour set to kick off over in Finland on June 28th with a return to North America on July 13th in Ottawa.  You can get all the dates via their website at the link provided above.  I don’t know about you but that video has me amped to catch Arcade Fire!
