The rash of celebrity divorces of late has claimed one of the biggest superstar super duos on the planet as Scarlett Johansson and husband Ryan Reynolds officially announce they have separated. Here is the statement issued by the couple to People:
“After long and careful consideration on both our parts, we’ve decided to end our marriage,” they say in a joint statement. “We entered our relationship with love and it’s with love and kindness we leave it. While privacy isn’t expected, it’s certainly appreciated.”
The site goes on to report that a source says Scarlett initiated the split and has already started apartment hunting in New York City. She is currently spending time with some girl friends in Jamaica.
Ryan Reynolds (34) and Scarlett Johansson (26) got married in a small, private ceremony in Ryan’s hometown of Vancouver at a wilderness retreat in September of 2008.
