Sarah Palin lands new travel show, Amazing America

Sarah Palin - Outdoor America Show

Four years after Sarah Palin’s Alaska ended its short run on TLC, the former vice-presidential candidate will return to television with Amazing America, a new travel show on The Sportsman Channel.

“The network showcases a lifestyle that I love and celebrate every day and it’s great to be a part of their team,” Sarah said in a statement.

The official press release adds the show will follow Sarah as she “explores and experiences the coolest and most original people, places, businesses, and gadgets that appeal to Red, Wild and Blue America. Whether it is celebrities living the sportsman dream or equally enthusiastic everymen, Mrs. Palin will take us nationwide to find the people and places that share and reflect her passion for what makes our country amazing.”

The 12-episode first season will premiere in April 2014. The format is still unclear, but it will integrate stories about fishing, hunting and shooting. Sarah will also meet with celebrities who embrace the “sportsman” lifestyle, said Marc Fein, EVP of Programming and Production at Sportsman Channel.

“We’ll have some celebrities, visiting some celebrities at ranches and farms, and just some really good stories of people living the American dream in our states — who went from nothing, created a product with great ingenuity and built their dream, which is building a dream cabin.”

As a particularly outspoken politician, Sarah is undeniably polarizing. However, the folks from The Sportsman Channel were eager to assure potential viewers that the show will not have a conservative slant.

“It’s not our intention at Sportsman to take any political position,” said Gavin Harvey, CEO of The Sportsman Channel, which also airs NRANews. “This lifestyle, coast to coast, crosses every type of political spectrum.”
