PHOTOS Olivia Newton-John graces Toronto Film Festival with awesomeness

Olivia Newton-John

’70s and ’80s superbabe Olivia Newton-John showed the world she is still “Totally Hot” at the world premiere gala for Score: A Hockey Musical at Roy Thomson Hall on opening night of the Toronto International Film Festival September 9, 2010!

Olivia stars in the movie as Hope Gordon, the home schooling mother of a hockey prodigy, and she reportedly performs a duet with co-star Marc Jordan. (I know everyone is hoping for a ice-skating reprise of the roller skating choreography masterpiece Xanadu, but the chances are slim at best.)

61-year-old Olivia was sporting a sultry shimmering silver and gold spaghetti strap gown with a shear animal print shawl and looked like the pop culture royalty she is as she smiled and waved at fans and photographers.

Also appearing with Olivia was her current (second) husband John Easterling and her daughter Chloe Lattanzi from her first marriage with actor Matt Lattanzi:

Some Olivia Newton-John trivia to fill in between ravishing photos:

Her first hit single was a cover of the Bob Dylan Song “If Not For You,” which was also covered by George Harrison and originally appeared on Dylan’s 1970 album New Morning. The track appeared on Olivia’s 1971 album of the same name and reached number 25 on the Adult Contemporary chart.

Olivia was 29 years old when she played the lead role of Sandy alongside co-star John Travolta in the 1978 film adaptation of Grease. Her character was rewritten to accommodate Olivia’s Australian accent.

Up until her pop success in the ’80s Olivia was strictly regarded as a country singer, winning multiple Grammys and riling the feathers of country music traditionalists.

Olivia overcame breast cancer in 1992 and has since been an advocate for health awareness becoming involved with various charities, health products and fundraising efforts.
