While Cher was sharing the spotlight with co-star Christina Aguilera at the premiere for Burlesque her once daughter but now gender reassigned son Chaz Bono stole the red carpet attention with a rare public appearance.

Chaz attended the event alongside his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Elia.  The couple looked extremely happy going as far as to lay a couple of kisses on each other for the photogs.  This was Chaz’s very first red carpet appearance since legally changing his name and gender.

It was a real positive show of support from Chaz for his mother who has herself been suportive if not completely understanding of Chaz’s transition from his previous female self, Chastity, to the man he is today.  In an interview with Vanity Fair Cher was quoted as saying that she, “forgets to call her ‘him'”

Here is another photo of Chaz and Elia showing a little red carpet style pda :

As a fellow broseph I’ve got to give some props to Chaz for the grade “A” arm candy.  Jennifer is a beautiful woman with a great sense of simple elegant style.  Her wardrobe didn’t show much flash but it did highlight her natural glow and let the attention remain on her celebrity man Chaz. Here’s one more parting shot of Chaz and partner Jennifer Elia from the Burlesque red carpet.

I say good for Chaz on stepping out and showing up for his mom.  Nothing is as encouraging as support from you family.
