Over 1.6 million fans applied online but only 8,750 got the winning email letting them know they were the lucky recipients of a pair of tickets to the Michael Jackson Memorial to be held tomorrow, Tuesday July 7 at 10 a.m. Pacific time at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Everyone else will be at home watching on television, as all major networks and cable channels plan on covering the event. Here’s one lucky recipient at the moment he found out:
Scheduled to appear are Ron Boyd (family friend), Kobe Bryant, Mariah Carey, Andrae Crouch Choir, Berry Gordy, Jennifer Hudson, Shaheen Jafargholi (finalist on Britain’s Got Talent), Magic Johnson, Martin Luther King III, Bernice A. King, John Mayer, Lionel Richie, Smokey Robinson, Rev. Al Sharpton, Brooke Shields, Pastor Lucious Smith (family friend), Usher and Stevie Wonder.
