The upcoming Magic Mike sequel is going to be considerably less magical as it’s been revealed that Oscar-winning actor Matthew McConaughey will not be reprising his role as veteran male stripper Dallas.
Magic Mike XXL director Greg Jacobs shared the tragic-Mike news to Indie Wire.
Many of the other not McConaughey beefcakes will be returning including Channing Tatum, Joe Manganiello, and Matt Bomer. In addition, there will be new clothes-removing actors stepping in but since the deals aren’t finalized yet – their names have not been revealed.
Jacobs said, “What am I allowed to say? It’s a road trip movie and put it this way, it’s different enough that once you see it you’ll understand why we made a sequel. No one will be accusing us of making the same movie twice.”
