Lindsay Lohan, the rail thin starlet who’s been desperately trying to get a grip on her flailing acting career might have turned down a golden opportunity. Us Weekly claimes that Lindsay was offered the role of the stripper Jade in the summer’s breakout hit, The Hangover. Heather Graham wound up in the role, and the movie was a huge success, raking in over $205 million and making stars out of it’s mostly unknown cast including Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, and The Office‘s Ed Helms.

This would have been a fantastic opportunity for the young star who recently turned 23 and was alledgely paid $70,000 to appear at her own birthday bash. Us states that she rejected a role in The Hangover after reading the script and determining that the it “had no potential.”

Some of Lohan’s most recent work includes a role in the movie Labor Pains, which she shot last summer. Pains was denied both a theatrical and DVD release, but was purchased by ABC Family where it will premier Sunday, July 19 8/7c. Lindsay also expressed wishes to become a professional model in interviews and teamed up with clothing line Fornarina for their new line. Part of the Fornarina campaign included an almost painfully laughable ad spot you can watch here.

This summer Lindsay launched her own spray-tanner line Sevin Nyne at Sephora with professional spray-tanner-of-the-stars Lorit Simon. There’s been some trouble brewing around Sevin Nyne lately as a chemist has stepped forward claiming to be the developer of the formula used in the product. According to The St. Petersburg Times Jennifer Sunday has filed a suit in Tampa against Lindsay and Lorit claiming that they stole her formula for their product and left her out of the business venture. She’s now looking for her fair share of the profits, if there are any.

According to the Times, “Sunday is suing Lohan, Simon, and Simon’s company for breach of contract, theft of trade secrets, civil conspiracy, intentional interference with contractual relations and deceptive and unfair trade practices.”

It sounds like things are still out of control for Lindsay, who’s also endured a turbulent on-and-off relationship this year with the surly-looking DJ Samatha Ronson. She’s still slated to star in the movie The Other Side, which also stars Woody Harrelson, Giovani Ribisi, Alanis Morissette, and Dave Matthews. Imdb describes the plot as: “An over-achieving science scholar tries to solve a bizarre mystery involving the residents of a remote island and ultimately discovers something she could have never predicted.” Hmm, Linds definitely should have went with The Hangover.

Lindsay, this couldn’ve been you!
