Jessica Simpson may be a new mommy, but she isn’t putting her career goals on hold. In fact, she’s adding something new to her list of things to do — become a bridal gown designer! It looks like her upcoming nuptials to fiancé Eric Johnson have inspired her to create a line of her own.
“A wedding line is something she’s always wanted to do,” a source close to Jessica tells In Touch. “She is talented and knows what women want to wear.” She sure does! In the last several years, Jessica has designed a line of edible perfume, lip gloss and other beauty products, created a line of hair and beauty products (with the help of Ken Paves), launched the Jessica Simpson Collection aka JSC, which includes handbags, shoes, and boots, and even made her own perfume!
JSC is expected to be the first celebrity brand to break $1 billion in annual sales this year. Not too shabby — especially since just a few years ago, she was known as the ‘newlywed’ who thought tuna was actually chicken. “Is this chicken, what I have, or is this fish?” God, love her! Did we mention she got nearly $1 million for a photo of her baby girl?
Now that she is in the business of brides, fans everywhere are on edge waiting for her fashionable designs and her Fashion Star co-star and stylist, Daniel Musto, is just as excited and has faith in Simpson as a designer. “If she does something that’s going to be memorable for decades,” says Daniel, “then certainly her wedding line is going to be successful because girls will want to mimic it!”
