TMZ is reporting that 18-year-old singer Selena Gomez was rushed to the hospital lat night just after her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Sources tell the site “Gomez was feeling horrible during and after the show, complaining of nausea and a severe headache.”

TMZ says Selena is still in a Los Angeles hospital undergoing tests and that the cause of her illness is still not yet known. First and foremost let me wish Selena a speedy recovery! Hopefully it is just something minor – perhaps symptoms of exhaustion from her incredibly busy schedule combined with the stress from all the media attention paid to her and boyfriend Justin Bieber of late.

UPDATE: Selena Gomez’s concert tonight at Santa Monica Place in Los Angeles has been canceled.
UPDATE – According to E! News Selena is “on the mend” and she is going to be “OK.” Her Santa Monica Place concert has been rescheduled for Monday afternoon. Of course the internet is ablaze with rumors that the star is pregnant with boyfriend Justin Bieber’s baby, but other than showing some symptoms that match morning sickness and being very affectionate towards each other there is nothing to support those rumors as of yet.
It should be interesting to see how Selena’s PR people handle this – whether they will want to address the rumors (one way or the other) immediately or let it drag out. One thing’s for certain, if they don’t say something soon, there is going to be a virtual uprising of Bieber fans that could threaten our very existence as we know it! (The first sign will be an extended Twitter crash.)
