Is Casting Jason Momoa as Conan the Barbarian a Good Choice?

Recycle Hollywood is churning out yet another remake, this time the blast from the past will be the film predecessor to Worlds of Warcraft, 1982’s classic Conan the Barbarian. It has been announced that Jason Momoa will play the wandering warrior. Californians are already rumored to be lining up at the polling stations to elect him the next Gubenator.

Momoa’s acting credentials are impressive. He was the 1999 Hawaiian Model of the Year and has fathered two children with Lisa Bonet. Well, he is a beefcake and we’re talking about Conan the Barbarian here. (No not this Conan the Barbarian).

The film will be directed by Marcus Nispel (Friday the 13th – no the remake) and is scheduled to begin shooting in March.

Here is Momoa taking his turn on the eternal Baywatch.

And of course we have to include the trailer from the classic Conan the Barbarian that will never be equaled, that shall never be engulfed in the shadow flames of Balin, that shall never know the dance of a thousand vipers carved upon the cobbled shields of yore! Got a little Conan carried away there, but this was an awesome flick.

The original Conan the Barbarian is going to be a tough act to follow.
