2009 Emmy Nominations – List and Picks

Family_guy

If you’re looking for the full list of 2009 Primetime Emmy nominations – head on over to the Emmy website to download the PDF or Word document. These lists are pretty hefty – 40 pages for the PDF, and 60 for the word doc – because they include all the little, less glamorous behind the scenes awards like “Outstanding Hairstyling For A Single-Camera Series.”

Family Guy is the belle of the ball right now because it’s the first animated show to be nominated in the “Comedy” category since the Flintstones, a feat the Simpsons hasn’t been able to pull off so far despite their much-loved 387-year run.

Also of note, Tina Fey got nominated for “Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series” for her portrayal of Sarah Palin on SNL, which was more brilliant than anything that’s happened on SNL for many years. Justin Timberlake also got nominated for his performances on SNL, which I hope he wins because aside from Tina Fey, Justin Timberlake was the funniest person on SNL this whole last season.

Below are some nominations from the main categories this year with stars next to who I hope will win and frowny faces next to who I hope will not win:
