Cindy McCain blames husband John McCain for gay bullying in PSA

PHOENIX - AUGUST 24: U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) speaks to a group of supporters alongside his wife Cindy at his victory party after winning Arizona's primary election August 24, 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona. Senator John McCain just survived a difficult midterm election to keep his seat in the Senate.  Now it looks like the legendary politician from Arizona has trouble on the home front in the form of a pro LGBT PSA featuring his wife Cindy McCain.

You don’t get more “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” than Senator John McCain.  He has a long standing history of service in the military and is a staunch supporter and advocate of DADT.  In the following PSA put together by California’s No H8 campaign Cindy joins other celebrities in telling the government to shove policies like DADT up their collective backsides.  Cindy boldly states in the PSA that:

“Our political and religious leaders tell LGBT youth that they have no future.  They can’t serve our country openly.

Cindy goes on to say that the government and particularly leaders like her husband John are whom bullys emulate:

Our government treats LGBT people like second class citizens.  Why  shouldn’t they (bullies)”

This is definitely not your typical image of a conservative politician’s wife standing by her man.  Here is the PSA; Cindy’s first appearance comes at the 47 second mark:

So what do you think of Cindy’s particiaption in this PSA?  Should she continue to speak out on the issues she feels strongly about or should she be more supportive of her husband and remain silent on issues he is staunchly for politically?
