Although we don't know if their luck changed as far as finding gold, the Hoffman Crew does appear to be having some more bad luck as far as the Colorado Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety is concerned!

Gold Rush star Todd Hoffman and his crew of miners are returning stateside next season to look for gold in their home state of Oregon. Although we previously narrowed down the location of the claim to Baker County, and
even had some satellite imagery of the equipment already on site, we still didn't have an exact location -- until now!
We have some very sad news to report for viewers of Gold Rush, as fan favorite Grandpa John Schnabel has died. The warm-hearted, always-smiling grandad of Parker Schnabel reportedly passed away in his sleep last night at the age of 96. On Friday night's episode of Gold Rush, Todd Hoffman dropped a bombshell on his crew and on viewers when he responded to the potential sale of his current mining claim to rival Parker Schnabel by researching the possibility of mining in his home state of Oregon next season. Even though the crew had positive results in their first trial run of 100 cubic yards, it was still unclear if the Hoffmans would be returning stateside for Season 7 or not.
