When we witnessed Jean-Luc Cerza-Lanaux and Dani Soares while filming Below Deck: Sailing Yacht in the Mediterranean, no one saw a tense paternity scandal coming. After a great deal of strife and putting off a paternity test, Jean-Luc has revealed that he is, indeed, the father of Dani’s baby Lilly Rose.

A couple of episodes ago on Below Deck Heather Chase was recorded saying the n-word, a racial slur, on camera. She was repeating her castmate Rayna Lindsey, who is black, saying it, but there is no situation where a white person should say this word. Heather did not apologize for it immediately afterwards but later she and deckhand Jake Folger were singing rap lyrics they may have said the word again. Rayna casually brought up that they couldn’t say the word, and pointed out that Heather had said the word earlier. Heather said “sorry” at the time. She later sat down and apologized to Rayna on tonight’s episode after a few days had passed, but Rayna ultimately did not find her apology sincere. Rayna Lindsey appeared last night on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen to address her thoughts and feelings about this difficult situation.

Below Deck‘s Captain Lee Rosbach was late to the boat on the current season due to having a medical procedure to treat his atrial fibrillation condition. Bravo’s salty “Stud of the Sea” revealed this week that he was recently back in the hospital for another serious procedure — spinal surgery! Captain Lee made the reveal while tweeting about this week’s episode. Unfortunately, the reveal was in response to some negativity surrounding some of the race issues featured on the current season.

Hannah Ferrier and Conrad Empson’s boatmance on Season 3 of Below Deck Mediterranean got serious quickly and fizzled out over 50 euros.
