GOLD RUSH Todd Hoffman launches production company for scripted and reality TV shows

Get that #ToddHoffmantrepreneur hashtag ready because the world's most famous amateur gold miner is expanding his resume to include being the head of a production company! Gold Rush star and creator (though some argue the latter claim) Todd Hoffman officially announced this week that he has joined forces with veteran producer Jose Behar to create Gold Standard Television, an independent production and finance company based in Los Angeles.

As we first reported back in November, Gold Rush star Todd Hoffman and his crew of miners are returning stateside next season to look for gold in their home state of Oregon. Although we previously narrowed down the location of the claim to Baker County, and even had some satellite imagery of the equipment already on site, we still didn't have an exact location -- until now!

On Friday night's episode of Gold Rush, Todd Hoffman dropped a bombshell on his crew and on viewers when he responded to the potential sale of his current mining claim to rival Parker Schnabel by researching the possibility of mining in his home state of Oregon next season. Even though the crew had positive results in their first trial run of 100 cubic yards, it was still unclear if the Hoffmans would be returning stateside for Season 7 or not. For fans (and avid detractors) of Gold Rush star Todd Hoffman and his family, we have two very interesting things to report! First, Todd announced earlier this year that he and the rest of the Hoffmans have a new family-based, prepper-themed spin-off reality show in the works. Second, seemingly confirming rumors that the Hoffman crew would be returning to the United States for the next gold mining season, online records indicate one of the family's companies recently registered a gold mine in Oregon!

On Season 6 of Gold Rush we see Todd Hoffman and his crew returning to McKinnon Creek for the second year in a row, this time with a lofty goal of 2,700 oz of gold for the season. Any fan of Discovery's popular reality series Gold Rush knows that Todd Hoffman is extremely skilled at...ummm... Well, anyways, who knew the portly aspiring miner has some mad basketball skillz?!? Todd took to his Facebook page yesterday to share a video of himself doing some fancy dribbling and even dunking by jumping over a car! Still, his on-screen rival Parker Schnabel was unimpressed, and the 21-year-old took to Facebook to do what Todd does so well -- throw shade. (See what I did there?)
