Axl Rose and what he is calling Guns N’ Roses these days got welcomed to the jungle in Dublin with a chorus of boos and water bottles!  Why were all these Irish rock fans so fired up?  It probably had something to do with the band making it on stage 90 minutes after the show was supposed to begin.

After a bit of the unwelcome greeting Axl stopped his band cold and said:

“Allright here’s the deal.  One more bottle and we go home.  It’s up to you.  We’d like to stay.  You want us to stay?  We want to stay, we want to have some fun.  If you don’t want to have fun all you got to do is let us know and we got no problem.  We’ll go on our way.  Start over.”

The band starts up again and then the vid cuts off.  When it comes back you here Axl say “good evening” and then he unceremoniously walks off the stage.

Here is the clip but be warned there’s quite a bit of profanity from the crowd geared towards you know who:

This was a great reminder that in the world of music John Mayers and Kany Wests may come and go but the king of all musical douche-bags is Axl Rose.  It is also a testament to the tour-de-force potency of the 80’s Guns N’ Roses classic Appetite For Destruction.  It’s like when Axl was a kid he had this all planned out.  He would release arguably the best hard rock album ever and then spend the remainder of his days being a complete idiot to see if people were still moved enough by the album that they would pay to come see him.

This show was another case in point.  Not only was the place packed but the crowd waited 90 minutes and THEN they actually hung out while Axl pouted and several promoters apologized profusely to them.  Axl and whoever the other dudes are that aren’t really GN’R came back out and finished the show.

How good is Appetite for Destruction?  There was actually someone still there at the end of the show cheering.
