Urban Outfitters apologizes for “vintage” faux-bloodstained Kent State sweatshirt

On May 4, 1970, four unarmed Kent State University students were shot dead and nine others were injured by members of the Ohio National Guard during a Vietnam War protest. Clothing retailer Urban Outfitters thought it would be a good idea to sell a “vintage” one-of-a-kind sweatshirt that appeared to be covered in blood stains and featuring the University’s seal. This was, of course, not a good idea at all. Read the company’s explanation about what they’re calling a misunderstanding after receiving harsh feedback via social media.

The entire starcasm staff road tripped from various locales to the World’s Most Beautiful Beaches today, but it wasn’t to get drunk and ogle college girls in bikinis – it was to get tipsy and ogle the Granddaddy of Grunge Neil Young!

The falsettoed rock and roll legend was performing at the Panama City Marina Civic Center to kick of his six-city “Gulf Coast Tour” to benefit those affected by the BP oil spill and we’ve got blurry photos of Neil, opening act Allen Toussaint and the new tour shirt as well as a complete list of songs from Neil’s set!
