The latest news for country mega-selling act Sugarland sure makes me feel better.  I could have sworn that back when they first broke big their was a third member, a female if I recalled, but after time and about 1,000 music videos I started to question if indeed there ever were a third.  Well lo and behold there was a third member by the name of Kristen Hall and the band Sugarland, now popularly known as the duet Jennifer Nettles and Christian Bush, have reached a settlement with their former band mate and manager.

Neither party is stating exactly what that settlement is but I would venture to say that Miss Hall is a tab bit more well to do than she was before the decision.  When I fist noticed Sugarland sans Hall I assumed it was a blatant removal of the “not as hot” girl of a band.  Jennifer Nettles is talented, with a lot of soul but she’s also a looker which is an absolute must in today’s Nashville scene.  I would reckon half of the selling package for a female performer in country is appearance.  I welcome anyone to argue with me on that one.

Here’s a music video of Sugarland with Miss Hall for their single “Baby Girl:”

Before I get too high and mighty on my preaching box it looks like Miss Hall left the band to stay home and write songs.  Back in July of 2008 Hall filed a lawsuit for 1.5 million stating that she was being exluded from sharing profits as was agreed when she deaprted the band.  Hall claims to have coined the name of the band as well as having co-ownership of the trademark.
