10-year-old Jackie Evancho kills on America’s Got Talent

America’s Got Talent tried a new twist last night as they featured performers that have found initial fame online via YouTube clips. For the most part the acts were underwhelming, that was until a cute little 10-year-old soprano singing girl from Pittsburgh blew everyone out of the water including the judges.

She was the last act and you kind of had to know that the producers knew what they were sitting on with the lovely little powder-keg.  All of the previous acts of the evening were selected by the judges but viewers were able to select one performer and chose Jackie. In a solid defense for democracy the people were dead on with their decision.

Here is adorable little Jackie performing “O Mio Babbino Caro” by Giacomo Puccini:

Evancho received a deserved standing ovation from the crowd and the judges.  Her composure was remarkable and her tearful thanks after the performance was genuine.  It is moments like this that makes TV shows like Talent worth watching.  Feel good television just doesn’t feel any better than that.

Jackie already has an established career having released an album Prelude to a Dream which you can purchase here.  If you want more Jackie info you can go by her MySpace page here.  On December 2nd she is scheduled to perform at Carnegie Hall making her the youngest female vocal soloist to ever grace America’s most revered stage.

Will opera hold up and will Evancho take the whole thing? If you just saw what I did I think you know the answer. Yes!
