Cinematographer Magdalena Gorka recently became the second woman in the last week to file a sexual harassment lawsuit against Casey Affleck, joining producer Amanda White who was also on Affleck’s most recent production, I’m Still Here: The Lost Year of Joaquin Phoenix. (You can read about Magdalena’s lawsuit HERE and Amanda White’s HERE.)
Magdalena is a well-respected cinematographer whose resume includes work on feature films Glina, Johnnie Walker, K-Ville and Dyplom as well as commercials for Wal-Mart, Converse, Max Azaria, Gift Arrow, Community Workshop and Corvette. She’s also handled the cinematography for a number of music videos – I will include some of those from YouTube at the bottom of this post.
In addition to being behind the camera, Magdalena has also spent a little time in front of the camera – Saam Gabbay’s camera to be exact. The photographer/blogger/podcaster created a video titled “A Very Sad Day” featuring Magdalena, compiled from 650 photographs. Here is how Gabbay described the “photofilm:”
A photofilm of Polish cinematographer Magdalena Gorka is posted in podcasts. She had just had a terrible day. We decided we should document it. Made with 650 photographs. Music is Tabula Rasa by Arvo Pärt.
A very sad Magdalena Gorka:
You can download the video from SaamGabbay.com in iPod and HD formats.
As I mentioned before, Magdalena has worked on a number of music video projects and I thought I might add the ones I was able to find on YouTube:
Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons – “Born Again:”
Lissy Trullie – “Ready For The Floor:”
The Wildbirds – “421 (Everybody Loves You):”
