Toddlers and Tiaras returns to TLC in August after a long hiatus, and earlier today the network posted a preview clip of the “Jungle Safari Pageant” in Shreveport, Louisiana to remind us all what we’ve been missing. Oh, and to also introduce us to Pageant Director Tonya, who might be the first reality star to ever out-Ramona Eyes Ramona Singer!
OUCH! I hope that poor child that was dropped on her face is OK!
Here’s what Pageant Director and clip narrator Tonya had to say:
“In the last several years, pageants have become even more competitive, and pageants are just like any sport: to compete you have to have the best of the best to win the Mega Ultimate Grand Supreme.
“Things can get crazy in the jungle. Sometimes, maybe that mom wants that win more than the child. I would say that’s one of my pet peeves is for a mom to say, ‘Well, how did she win?’ Well, because the judges picked her to win. Your kid’s not going to win every single time. You pay for one thing, and that’s someone else’s opinion.
“I’m not going bug-eyed am I?”
Producer: “Yeah, a little bit.”
