Fans of Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York City know that Bethenny Frankel has never shied away from speaking her mind. The Skinny Girl founder did just that and then some during a talk over the weekend and her comments, according to one of the guests, left many in attendance in shock.

Frankel was a keynote speaker at Rent The Runway’s and UBS’s Project Entrepreneur summit in New York City Saturday. Mary Pryor, a tech advisor and social strategist, attended the women’s entrepreneurial summit and claims that Frankel encouraged her fellow female professionals to have sex with men to get ahead in the work place.

In addition, Pryor said that Frankel advised the attendees to “hire a white man as the face of our companies.” Frankel also told the listeners that she felt a kinship to black women because she’s “loud.”

In a post shared via Huffington Post, Pryor stated that she and others attempted to approach the podium to contradict Frankel’s assertions only to be turned away by a moderator.

Pryor wrote, “Women shouldn’t stand for ignorance and bias in this space. Further, being black should not be viewed as a deterrent to success. If more of us come together, then fewer of us will succumb to the ideologies of the Bethenny Frankels in the business world. It’s time to break cycles of ignorance and bias towards female founders of all backgrounds.”

Project Entrepreneur eventually tweeted out an apology to Pryor.
