The Lohan family’s mug shot collection continues to grow, this time from an unexpected source. Lindsay Lohan’s brother Michael Lohan, Jr. usually manages to remain out of the media spotlight, but the 27-year-old (mug shot photo above) is making headlines after he was arrested in New York City Thursday for allegedly using a fake placard from the New York State “Executive Branch” to avoid paying for parking.

“Late Thursday afternoon, investigators discovered the placard prominently displayed on the dashboard of Lohan’s vehicle, while the required NYC parking meter fare had not been paid,” reads a statement from the police.

Michael’s car was a 2015 Audi, and, according to Page Six, he told the officer on the scene, “This is my car,” before adding, “No one else drives it.”

From Page Six:

The cop arrested Lohan, who hadn’t paid for parking in the metered zone, after he couldn’t produce any proof that he actually worked for the New York State Executive Branch.

Lohan was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument in the third degree and criminal impersonation in the second degree. He was arraigned in NYC Criminal Court and released on his own recognizance.

His next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 14.

Michael reportedly claims that he did not use the forged placard intentionally. and his attorney feels confident that his client will be able to dodge a conviction. “They just summarily arrested him, put him in handcuffs and put him in a car,” attorney Mark Heller said. “We have a good case. I’m confident the case will be dismissed.”

Using a fake parking permit may not seem like a big deal to most folks, but in New York City (especially Manhattan!) it can not only save thousands of dollars a year, but also countless hours searching for an open space. Individual spaces in parking garages in the area run around $430 a month, and attempts to park on the street can often take more than an hour.
