Despite their common backgrounds as Disney stars, Hilary Duff and Miley Cyrus have gone down very different paths. That’s why it’s pretty surprising that Hilary said she actually looks up to her younger counterpart in a lot of ways.
“This industry is a tough one to crack, but then I look at someone like Miley, and as crazy as people might think the whole thing is, I commend her,” Hilary, unprompted, told PrideSource. “She’s so wholeheartedly being herself and is unapologetic about that and she’s doing a great job.”
Hilary, who now stars in TV Land’s Younger and is working on new music, added it help that Miley is “wickedly talented.”
“As much as people wanna hate on her for wearing this or doing that or whatever it is people hate on her for, I think she gets the last laugh,” Hilary said. “At the end of the day, her talent backs it all up.”
Even though Hilary added she doesn’t “relate to everything that [Miley’s] doing,” she’s inspired by her willingness to be “unapologetically herself.” Can’t argue with that!
