We can officially set our DVRs for the Girl Meets World premiere!
Disney Channel announced today that the long-anticipated spinoff will debut the evening of Friday, June 27 at 9:45/8:45c, immediately after the premiere of Zapped!, a new TV movie. GMW will settle into its normal time-slot of 8:30/7:30c two weeks later (July 11).
But, there’s more good news! If you can’t wait until late June, the premiere episode will be available on the WATCH Disney Channel video player beginning Wednesday, May 21. It will also be available for purchase on iTune beginning Friday, June 13.
On top of it all, Disney released an extended trailer today. It features to-be GMW regulars Ben Savage, Danielle Fishel, Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter — plus Boy Meets World favorites William Daniels (Mr. Feeny), Rider Strong (Shawn), William Russ (Alan), Betsy Randle (Amy), Lee Norris (Minkus) and Danny McNulty (Harley). According to Hollywood Reporter, the premiere episode will show Riley Matthews staging a homework rebellion with the help of BFF Maya. This leads to a small debate between Riley and her been-there-done-that dad, Cory Matthews (who is now a teacher at Riley’s middle school).
