Parents worry about all sorts of issues when it comes to teenagers, such as drinking, driving, drugs, and sex. One thing parents probably haven’t thought to worry about it is whether their kids are snorting condoms. Say what?! That’s right: the hot new trend among teens is snorting condoms through their noses and pulling them out of their mouths… like a clown trick gone terribly wrong. Dozens of teens are proudly displaying the trend on YouTube.
In addition to being disgusting, condom snorting is also incredibly dangerous and could even been fatal. The Sun consulted Dr. Carol Cooper about the trend and she said, “It’s shocking and incredibly stupid. The nose is connected to the back of the mouth – it’s also connected to the airwaves. There’s every possibility something you push up your nose will end up in your windpipe, or in your lungs. With potentially fatal results.”
The Inquistr reported that the first condom snorting videos appeared on YouTube as early as October 2012, but that the trend has gone viral in recent weeks. The videos are part of what’s come to be known as the “Condom Challenge.” I imagine the “challenge” they refer to is not throwing up and/or dying after successfully snorting the condom.
