Pregnant woman fired for having premarital sex, job allegedly offered to her baby-daddy

San Diego Christian College fired financial aid specialist Teri James for having premarital sex after the institution discovered she was pregnant.

While it may seem incredulous to some, the institution of higher learning appears to have had the right to can James for having made whoopie before having said “I do” (to a man of course). James signed off on the SDCC’s employee contract upon being hired which prohibited her from, “sexually immoral behavior, including premarital sex, adultery, pornography and homosexuality,” among other things. James’ termination letter partially stated, “Teri engaged in activity outside the scope of the Handbook and Community Covenant that does not build up the college’s mission.”

Teri has brought a lawsuit against her previous employer for wrongful termination and has sought the assistance of Gloria Allred to help her out. James told Today, “I needed a job in this economy and so I never thought that anything would happen — I just needed a job.” Allred added, “It does not say that you will be fired if you do not comply.”

What could prove to be Teri’s smoking gun in the case is what she claims happened after they let her go. The school is said to have offered the job to her boyfriend, knowing that he was the unmarried man who had impregnated the woman they had just terminated for having had premarital sex. Whah!?!

James is now married to the father of her baby, Brandon James. The school released a statement in which they acknowledged having fired Teri for having premarital sex, which they discovered because of her pregnancy.
