It’s a girl for comedian and talk show host Rosie O’Donnell and wife Michelle Rounds as the couple shared a photo today of their new daughter Dakota! Rosie posted the photo above on Instagram along with the caption, “we r thrilled to announce the arrival of r daughter Dakota – #withloveandthanks – AMEN”
The announcement comes as a bit of a surprise to fans. Rosie said during an appearance on Dr. Oz in January of 2012 that she and Michelle were “trying to get pregnant,” but had been silent about it since.
UPDATE – It seems the couple was able to keep the pregnancy secret because Michelle wasn’t pregnant! O’Donnell’s rep told ABCNews.com that Dakota was adopted by the couple. She was born on January 5 and weighed 5 pounds, 5 ounces at birth. “Moms and baby are happy and healthy,” the rep adds.

Dakota is Rosie, 50, and Michelle’s first child together, but will be joining Rosie O’Donnell’s four other children: Blake, Parker, Chelsea and Vivienne (from her previous marriage to Kelli Carpenter).
It’s been one Hell of a year for O’Donnell, who married Rounds in June before suffering a heart attack in August. The two plan to have a bigger, public wedding later this year — with Dakota the center of attention I’m sure!
