Lauren Conrad may have been in the spotlight on Laguna Beach and The Hills for most of her dating life, but now that she’s reality television-free, she’s been keeping her private life private. In fact, when she began dating My Boys actor Kyle Howard during the fourth season of The Hills, she chose to keep him off the show and when they split, she didn’t say one word about it.
Now, one year later, she is finally talking about what she went through after she and Kyle called it quits in June of last year after nearly three years together. In a new blog post, Lauren responded to a fan question regarding how hard it is to be single when all your friends are getting married. “I was in a similar place last year. Twenty-five, newly single and helping one of my best friends plan her wedding, so I know how it can feel,” she explains.
“It can be hard to feel like you have to start from scratch when you have invested so much time with a person, but shortly after my break up I realized something: I wasn’t losing the chance to have love—I was getting the opportunity to do it all over again.”
Lauren is currently doing it “all over again” with William Tell, a law student at USC. The two were set up by a mutual friend on Valentine’s Day and have been going strong ever since. True to her new, more private self, Lauren kept him secret for an impressive four months before they were finally photographed together this past June.
Lauren and William recently took a big step in their relationship — they went on vacation together. Last month, the couple spent five romantic days at the Esperanza Resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and they spared no expense. Their room alone was $1,500 per night.
