Jenny McCarthy, Playboy model and current host of Love In The Wild, and her Chicago Bears linebacker beau, Brian Urlacher, have officially called it quits. The two had been dating since April after being set up by mutual friends. Jenny and Brian had stayed fairly quiet about their relationship while dating but the two seemed to be getting serious as of late and Jenny even made plans to move to Chicago this month. Unfortunately, their relationship didn’t quite make it.
“Brian and I have decided to turn our romance into an amazing friendship,” Jenny, 39, explained to PEOPLE Magazine in a statement on Thursday. “I will continue to be the biggest cheerleader for him. Go, Bears!” Jenny is a Chicago native, so her love for the Bears began long before her romance with Brian.
Just a few weeks ago, Jenny revealed her plans to move back to her hometown of Chicago. “I’ll still be filming my shows in L.A., but I’ll fly back and forth. I’ll be tailgating at all the Chicago Bears home games!” she said at the time. Although she was surely planning on spending more time with her beau, she insisted that Brian wasn’t her reason for moving.
Back in April, rumors of their romance swirled, but Jenny stayed coy for a while, only telling press, “I’m giddy about someone.” A short while later, she admitted, “I can confirm that yes, it’s true, we are dating. Go, Bears – that’s all I’ll say.” The two eventually debuted their love publicly at the Chicago opening of Bill and Giuliana Rancic’s RPM.
It’s unfortunate that these two didn’t work out. It seemed to be the perfect romance. A Hollywood celebrity strikes up a romance with a local football star, moves back home, and they live happily ever after — but they didn’t. Jenny just doesn’t seem to be having any luck in love.
