If you missed the news from a couple of days ago former child star and Nickelodeon vet Amanda Bynes was arrested for DUI after sideswiping a police car in West Hollywood.
Amanda’s father, Rick Bynes, has come to her daughter’s defense in comments made to People. Here is what dad had to say about the allegations against his daughter:
“She was not drunk. I was told that she blew a zero on the Breathalyzer. She didn’t have a single drink that night. My daughter doesn’t drink.”
He added that in the early morning in question that it wasn’t intoxication affecting Amanda but instead, “she was upset and very emotional.” Also, he claims that the arresting officer was at fault for pulling out in front of Amanda at the intersection where the arrest took place.
The courts will have to decide her state for that incident but TMZ has a couple of videos from previous outings that, at least on the surface, appear to contradict Rick’s assertion that his daughter doesn’t drink.
This first clip is from back on March, 22nd and Amanda appears to need the assistance of two friends just to make it to her ride. On that evening she choose not to drive:
And here is more footage of Amanda after a night out at Greystone Manor on March, 17th and it looks like Bynes might be stumbling but this time she gets behind the wheel and drives off while a photog suggests that she get someone else to drive her home.
