This post is actually a little experiment. I’m a big fan of Project Runway and for the past four months I’ve been enjoying a free subscription to Women’s Wear Daily that I got for ordering some postcards from Vista Print, and those two things have elevated me to the level of Fashion nube! I am profoundly ignorant when it comes to the history of fashion and there are lots of aesthetic aspects of the craft that I’m just not trained enough to notice, but I do find the art and business of fashion absolutely fascinating.
That being said, I often see images from designer fashion shows on our image services and would like to occasionally do posts of images (don’t worry, you won’t get much nube commentary from me) from the runway. The problem is that there are usually tons of images associated with any given show, so it’s a rather labor intensive process. So, if the post kind of flops I doubt I will be able to keep doing them 🙁 So, if you like the images and would like to see similar posts from fashion shows in the future, just give it a little tweet or send it to your fashion buddy on Facebook or leave a positive comment!
The first show I’m going to try out is the 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall Fashion Show at The Tent in Bryant Park, New York during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week February 17, 2010. Don’t read too much into my selection of shows to start with – I had the idea to do it and the Lim show photos were the most recent.
The photos are broken down into multiple pages with ten images on each page. You can click on the “glossary” images below and the page of photos will open in a new window. I apologize that some of the photos are out of order (the same outfit might have multiple photos five images apart) but that is how the photo service arranged them and for thumbnail reasons it would have been a massive headache trying to group them accurately.
