MTV announces Scream Season 2, Finding Carter premiere date, and more at TCA

MTV officially announced there will be a Scream Season 2 today during the network’s 2015 Summer TCA Presentation. In addition, MTV shared some exclusive preview clips and made more announcements regarding their shows Finding Carter, America’s Best Dance Crew, Awkward, Faking It, and Ridiculousness. MTV green-lights 4 new unscripted series including “Untitled Virgins Project,” renews “Awkward” with new show runners

MTV announced earlier today they have given the green light to four new unscripted projects, including one that seems to be a complete 180 degree turn from their previous reality show successes, Jersey Shore and Teen Mom (1, 2, 3). The show is tentatively called Untitled Virgins Project and is described as “a docu-series following the lives of young adults as they navigate the world of relationships and sexual pressures all while sharing one major thing in common: virginity.” (I suppose they could also have the GTL mantra — but definitely no Smush Room!) Keep reading for all the details on the new shows, which include a couple food-themed reality competition ventures as well as one called “The Ex and the Why.” Plus, Awkward Season 4 is officially a go, but with new show runners!

The show that has received this important green-light is a scripted comedy called Awkward that will star Ashley Rickards as Jenna Hamilton, a high-schooler who must deal with a not-so-fun stigma following an accident.
