In sensationalist headline news… Neka Zang, a cast member in the Tony Award winning Broadway musical Rock of Ages, was asked to remove a photo she posted on Twitter featuring herself and some cast mates posing with New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow because they were wearing stripper costumes. The Denver Broncos shocked the sports world yesterday by selecting University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow with the 25th overall pick in the NFL Draft. Not only did the Broncos skip over the highly touted QB Jimmy Clausen from Notre Dame to take Tebow, but they traded the 43rd, 70th, and 119th pick in the draft to do it! All of this after the Broncos had a good year from Kyle Orton and just recently traded for the Cleveland Browns’ Brady Quinn last month!

Florida Gators quarterback Tim Tebow didn’t win any of the awards at the ESPNU College Football Awards in Lake Buena Vista, Florida Thursday night, but he still managed to garner some positive publicity with his date selection.

20-year-old Kelly Faughnan of Clifton, Virginia was diagnosed with a brain tumor just prior to Thanksgiving 2008 and underwent surgery in December. The huge Florida Gators fan was at Disney World this week and was hoping she would catch a glimpse of Tebow, who she knew would be in attendance at the awards show. According to NBC Sports, the couple met Wednesday and Tim Tebow made the decision to bring her to the College Football Awards as his date.

“I was really touched,” Tebow told NBC.
