Teen Mom‘s Maci Bookout may soon be back on MTV — during the morning music videos! Watch her acting debut in The Instigator’s song about a single mother and her daughter. (The single mother part wasn’t a big stretch for Maci!)
Catfish star Nev Schulman revealed in January of 2013 that he is dating singer/songwriter Shanee Pink after one of her songs was featured on the show, and now it appears that Nev has decided to take the plunge — literally — by starring (and swimming) in Shanee’s music video for her new single, “Spreading In The Light.”
Melanie Martinez didn’t win The Voice a few seasons ago when she competed on Adam Levine’s team, but she had such a unique sound that she developed quite a following. Now she’s delivering her fans some music with her new single “Dollhouse” about a picture-perfect family with some issues.
On last night’s episode of HBO’s Girls we were treated to Marnie’s ex boyfriend Charlie’s version of revenge p0rn, which was an excruciatingly cringe-worthy music video featuring Marnie performing Edie Brickell’s hipster anthem “What I Am.” Keep reading to watch the clip, see some glorious still photos and find out what actress Allison Williams had to say about the masterpiece of angry angsty camp at the Girls Season 3 Premiere event!
On Monday Jamie Lynn Spears released her debut single “How Could I Want More,” a sincere and wonderfully straight-forward (and completely not overwrought) country song about her fiance Jamie Watson — who is apparently as close to a perfect guy as it gets. The single has been met with near-universal praise (including mine) and is currently tearing up the iTunes country charts. And now we have the official music video, which is once again refreshingly understated and sincere.
Katy Perry released a visually rich and romantic video teaser for “Unconditionally,” and while there’s a lot of period costumes, and snow, and melodramatic dancing, and a very emotional Katy, the true star is an owl who will f**k you up if you mess with Katy’s heart. I think that’s what’s going on.
After teasing for what seems like month, the music video for “Roar,” the first single off of Katy Perry’s forthcoming album Prism, is finally here! Keep reading to watch the full video with a few colorful screen caps and a teeny tiny bit of interpretive commentary.
Although some herald Labor Day as the end of summer, it actually lasts through September 21 (up here in the Northern Hemisphere), so that means “The Fox” by Norwegian duo Ylvis is eligible for 2013′s “Song of the Summer,” and I think when you hear it (and see the video — uploaded September 3) you will have to agree it has no competition. So move over Robert Thicke and make room for Bård Ylvisåker and Vegard Ylvisåker as they delve into the eternal mystery, “What the fox say?”
Lady Gaga just released the video for her new single “Applause” and it’s pretty much everything you would expect from a new Lady Gaga music video – which is A LOT! There are numerous bizarre costumes (is that an optic fiber rooster tail?!?), lingerie mattress gyrating, one “bikini” thing made out of shells and another out of gloved hands, a black swan with Lady Gaga’s singing head, and tons and tons of face paint.
