On Monday Jamie Lynn Spears released her debut single “How Could I Want More,” a sincere and wonderfully straight-forward (and completely not overwrought) country song about her fiance Jamie Watson — who is apparently as close to a perfect guy as it gets. The single has been met with near-universal praise (including mine) and is currently tearing up the iTunes country charts. And now we have the official music video, which is once again refreshingly understated and sincere.

Katy Perry released a visually rich and romantic video teaser for “Unconditionally,” and while there’s a lot of period costumes, and snow, and melodramatic dancing, and a very emotional Katy, the true star is an owl who will f**k you up if you mess with Katy’s heart. I think that’s what’s going on.
After teasing for what seems like month, the music video for “Roar,” the first single off of Katy Perry’s forthcoming album Prism, is finally here! Keep reading to watch the full video with a few colorful screen caps and a teeny tiny bit of interpretive commentary.
Although some herald Labor Day as the end of summer, it actually lasts through September 21 (up here in the Northern Hemisphere), so that means “The Fox” by Norwegian duo Ylvis is eligible for 2013′s “Song of the Summer,” and I think when you hear it (and see the video — uploaded September 3) you will have to agree it has no competition. So move over Robert Thicke and make room for Bård Ylvisåker and Vegard Ylvisåker as they delve into the eternal mystery, “What the fox say?”
Lady Gaga just released the video for her new single “Applause” and it’s pretty much everything you would expect from a new Lady Gaga music video – which is A LOT! There are numerous bizarre costumes (is that an optic fiber rooster tail?!?), lingerie mattress gyrating, one “bikini” thing made out of shells and another out of gloved hands, a black swan with Lady Gaga’s singing head, and tons and tons of face paint.
“Just because you start off in the strip club doesn’t mean that’s where you finish.” That quote by Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star Joseline Hernandez kicks off her latest music video for the song “Shotz,” which was filmed during her vacation to Puerto Rico with co-star and now husband Stevie J and features Joseline heading back to the strip club to show off her twerk ethic.
New dad Kanye West has decided to involve his baby-momma’s family and best friend in the promotion of his other new baby, his latest album Yeezus. In the following wonderfully strange clip that loads up when you head to kanyewest.com you see Kim Kardashian’s BFF Jonathan Cheban and Kourtney Kardashian’s baby-daddy Scott Disick in a random shot-for-shot remake of an unforgettable scene from American Psycho. Huey Lewis and the News, meet Yeezus!
Though Teen Mom 3 reportedly won’t be premiering until August, that hasn’t stopped one of the show’s stars, Katie Yeager, from getting some small screen time! The 19-year-old single mom (and Starcasm fave) put her modeling skills to work in a music video for Kid Seuss’s new single “Broken.” We spoke with Katie and found out how the whole thing happened and whether starring in a music video is really as cool and fun as it sounds.
Mariah Carey released the full video for her new single “#Beautiful” (yes, the hashtag is part of the name) on tonight’s American Idol.
What do you think? Song of the summer?
Selena Gomez premiered her seductive (and catchy) “Come and Get It” music video Tuesday night, and noticeably missing from the Bollywood inspired song was a Bindi, which she has controversially worn during recent performances of the new song.
