Carrie Underwood, the 2005 American Idol winner (back when winning American Idol really meant something) and current chart topper, posed for Marie Claire‘s June issue in a lovely Burberry Prorsum swimsuit and gave them a candid interview.

Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher have been married for two and a half years now and while Carrie surely sees Mike as her equal, others tend to see him as the guy in the background of her successful career which has led to him being referred to as “Mr. Underwood.” But Carrie, for one, is not a fan of the term and has taken to the pages of Allure Magazine to defend his honor.

American Idol alum Carrie Underwood has been struggling through some vocal issues the past few days (Underwood has been under the weather). On Friday night in Des Moines she soldiered through a set that was slightly shortened and towards the conclusion she did something quite out of the oridnary. Not satisfied with her own performance she announced that she would be returning all the proceeds from that evening’s show back to the community.
