NBC put the blind auditions in overdrive last week surprising most viewers by filling out all 32 roster spots. Each team coached by Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Cee Lo Green and Christina Aguilera now has 8 members. The next step in the process to discover who’s going to take this whole thing is called the battle phase. In this battle phase each coach, after a little training and prep work, will pick two of their team members to face off against each other by singing the same song in front of a studio audience. It is then up to the coach to decide who advances and who is sent packing.
Are you ready to vocal rumble? Let’s do this! As I have with the first two week blind audition summaries (week 1 – week 2) I will give you the opportunity to let your voice be heard in a poll. Headed into the battle rounds our readers have Adam’s team in the lead.

Adam Blackstone is Levine’s go to man for his band Maroon 5 and Mr. Blackstone assisted Adam in coaching up his team. Adam went with Casey Weston and Tim Mahoney. Mahoney was real happy with the match based on his stage experience and his familiarity with the song “Leather and Lace.” Casey looked freakin’ hot by the way. The two really had a beautiful performance.

Blake had none other than Reba McEntire helping him out. He decided to let Patrick Thomas and Tyler Robinson fight it out. Blake was interested in the fact that the two were both very confident singers. I loved his song choice of Elvis’ “Burning Love.” Cee Lo said he could sang but that these two could sing.

Green was last up on the show and he went with Vicci Martinez vs. Niki Dawson. He thought they both had a youthful soulful appearance and selected Perfect (Pretty Pretty Please) by Pink, the artist he name dropped from last week which Adam hilariously pointed out. Blake pointed out that Cee Lo selected his two best and would regret it.

Christina’s advisor was Australian Cia. Aguilera decided to pit Frenchie and Tarralyn against each other. During the training XTina suggested that the two attack the vocals and get fierce. They mentioned to Frenchie that she sang a little sharp which was a surprise to Davis. Tarralyn claimed that she was bagging her best performance as to not show her hand to Frenchie. Aguilera mentioned a little stumble she had at the Grammys and a save by Jennifer Hudson as an example for the two to be competitive but to have fun.
Carson brought the two into an actual stage that is decorated to look like a boxing ring. I like the fact that the show ran the entire performance. During the song Christina and her advisor were discussing the impending decision.

There you have it, each team now has 7 members and once they get to 4 the show will move in to last phase called the live performances in which the teams face off against each other and the TV audience (us!) gets to save one team member leaving the coach to decide from his / her remaining members who heads home.
